Change!!!

Posted in Uncategorized by ego on November 27th, 2006

Opening Mood: It’s a new day of a new week :-)
Opening Song: Standing in Motion - Yanni

Change is inevitable.
The Proactive bring about it;
The Reactive adapt to it and further stabilize it;
And the Inactive try to resist, only in vain.

The inactive idiots sleep soundly, wrapped in their quilts of security and stability when the first winds of change start blowing over their heads. But they are so engrossed in the lazy music their own snores that they hardly catch these first winds. With time, these light winds grow stronger metamorphizing into a storm. The inactive idiots wake up in the middle of this storm and think that they are in the middle of a “Revolution”.

Remember, o fame seeker, it’s these idiots who stay back to write the history books!

Closing Song: Santorini - Yanni.
Closing Mood: Munir Lands the Plane - Yanni.

    one who runs from the fight, lives to see another day!

    don’t remember the exact words, can somebody remind me!

    @theg
    Not all who run away from fights are cowards. Some people just get out when they realize it’s not worth fighting because they are fighting idiots or they are fighting deadlocks!!!

    Wonderfully said, Goti. We could have saved ourselves a lot of trouble, if you had mentioned this a long time back. :)

    @shivdeep
    Trouble? Which one?!

    @theg
    Are you refering to the idiots or deadlocks or both?

    As said in “Only Paranod survives” by Andy Groove once in a while there comes a change of the magnitude of 10x where x is the normal delta, this is the time when the core of the things change and those who adapt quickly survive others simply perish in thier own ignorance….

    @Vaijanath
    Nice one!

    Are u sure about that? That the ones waiting behind will not perish before they finish writing it????

    I always believed that history was written by the victor. All wars are documented in history from the victor’s point of view.

    @kripal pais
    Who is talking about winning and losing here?

    The ones who write the history are the survivors of the “revolution” who have time to do such a thing! Winners we know are the winners through their perspective.

    Looking at the current situation, I see that people have so much time to record history. And so many people !
    The future generations will have a hell lot of winners to read about and several perspectives of the same story!

    It’s already happening in the present. I hope you still remember the history textbook fiasco :-)

    i guess you have a lot of experience with both :).

    lock_cpu_hotplug();
    get_belted_by_akpm();
    /*The Idiot Part :)*/
    /*Next line not reachable, stuck in deadlock*/
    unlock_cpu_hotplug();

    @theg
    akpm never belted me. He just belted the approach as he thought there was a better one ( or probably the BKL is still haunting him. He’s a maintainer after all!)

    And no, he certainly ain’t an idiot. He just wants to try and see if the problem can be solved by reusing what exists rather tha creating new stuff.

    We may be holding different stands as of now, but time will surely make one or probably even both of us wiser. After all, change is inevitable ;)
